What you will be doing:

  • Develop strategy and actively manage case-load
  • Independently attend court hearings
  • Independently draft complaints discovery and motions
  • Work on and assist in trial preparations
  • Communicate with clients and witnesses
  • Experience taking and defending depositions
  • Draft and argue motions including motions for class certification
  • Conduct discovery including depositions
  • Work with expert witnesses particularly in financial and statistical fields
  • Manage settlement negotiations and participate in mediations
  • Collaborate with co-counsel and opposing counsel
  • Take cases to trial and arbitration if necessary

Experience you will need:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school
  • Active California bar membership in good standing
  • Minimum of 2 years of substantive employment litigation experience
  • Experience taking and defending depositions and managing discovery
  • Law and motion knowledge including experience arguing motions
  • Working knowledge of California Civil Procedure and Federal Rules of Court
  • Strong analytical research and writing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experienced with developing and sustaining client relationships
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating within a team-oriented environment
  • Commitment to representing employees and protecting their rights
