Job Description

Job Goal:

To provide leadership and support to innovation/magnet school programs including outreach and recruitment strategies in relation to marketing and recruiting efforts data reporting and other innovation/magnet school related duties administration of instructional programs and operations.

Terms of Employment:

Ten and one-half (10.5) month (215 days) teacher contract plus benefits package.NOTE: Precise placement within the salary range will be determined based upon education and experience.FLSA: Exempt

Qualifications:

  1. Masters Degree or higher with Arkansas certification.
  2. Minimum of five (5) years experience in science math or innovation/magnet programs education and appropriate certification required.
  3. Ability to work effectively with staff.
  4. Ability to coordinate campus support operations.
  5. Knowledge of curriculum development and successful teaching methods.
  6. Sensitivity to the needs of minority and non-minority as evidenced by successful teaching/administrative experience.
  7. Experience in leading staff development programs.
  8. Experience with effective strategies for teaching in a multi-ethnic setting.
  9. Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. These statements are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties and responsibilities required of all personnel within this position.

  1. Specializes in one or more thematic areas of the innovation/magnet program.
  2. Planning and implementation of hands-on project-based STEAM learning that includes but not limited to instruction evaluation field trips community service events service learning projects and workshops.
  3. Assists in the development and production of all innovation/magnet curriculum and magnet materials.
  4. Monitor equitable representation of students in STEAM programs and activities.
  5. Provides technical assistance and ongoing professional development and coaching in STEAM areas of instruction for teachers.
  6. Assists interdisciplinary teams/core team teachers in development and implementation of innovation/thematic units centered on innovation/magnet themes.
  7. Coordinate and promote STEAM activities which includes after-school and/or extra-curricular activities across grade levels.
  8. Help to develop maintain and use information systems and records to track progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
  9. Promote the use of evidence-based interventions in mathematics for Tier II and Tier III.
  10. Demonstrates appreciation for and sensitivity to the diversity among individuals and specific populations. Respects confidentiality.
  11. Support staff by providing instructional leadership in the areas of science technology engineering arts and math.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Mental Functions Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit stand walk go up and down stairs operate foot and hand controls use a telephone and write. Occasionally the employee must lift and/or move up to twenty (20) or more pounds. This position requires accurate perceiving of sound near and far vision depth perception handling and working with educational materials and/or objects and providing oral information. Must have the ability to work for the duration of the daily contracted time period and to be physically present and at assigned work with only infrequent unexcused absences during the contract year. Additional technical skills knowledge and abilities may be recommended by immediate supervisor and approved by the Human Resources Director.
