The Environmental and Community Services Section (ECSS) is seeking a Web and SharePoint Solutions Specialist to join the Editorial and Web Publishing Services Team. This is a journey level position that will provide web SharePoint digital transformation and business process support the Wastewater Treatment Divisions (WTD) capital projects programs and initiatives. About The Role:This role is designed for a self-starter who will focus on mapping business processes developing automation and supporting digital transformation efforts such as SharePoint migrations intranet and web development and employee resource updates for WTD projects programs sections units and work groups. The successful candidate will also provide guidance to staff on collaborating across diverse WTD sections and work groups.This position performs work remotely and onsite.
About The Team:This role is a member of the Editorial and Web Publishing Services team in the Environmental Services Unit (ESU) of the Environmental and Community Services Section (ECSS) of WTD. Our team provides technical writing and editing services as well as web and SharePoint content creation and design and power platform solutions for customers throughout WTD. What You Will Be Doing:
Under the direction of more senior staff the candidate in this role will be responsible for carrying out digital transformation in support of WTD capital projects program and division initiatives including (but not limited to) the following:- Provide direct preparation of external web pages as needed for capital projects programs and division initiatives. Act as a backup for the WTD web lead.
- Provide Microsoft 365 support and development with a focus on intranet (SharePoint) sites and MS Teams sites for ECSS and Directors Office staff and other section staff as requested.
- Assess and develop power platform tools to streamline ECSS business processes and administrative tasks.
- Create dashboards to display key metrics and data points related to services and performance.
- Participate in development of SharePoint/intranet standards and guidance for WTD staff.
Experience Qualifications Knowledge Skills
Qualifications You Bring:
- Demonstrated technical competence in web and SharePoint communications UX design power automate and power BI applications commensurate with an early to mid-level career.
- Demonstrated experience designing managing and migrating SharePoint sites commensurate with an early to mid-level career.
- Exceptional skill in working collaboratively with staff at all levels while providing high quality customer service.
- Willingness and ability to participate in and support equity and social justice efforts including having difficult conversations and addressing microaggressions.
- Exemplify continuous improvement in conducting assigned work.
- Be exceptionally dependable in accomplishing work assignments with little assistance required and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent facilitation oral and written communications skills.

It Would Be Great If You Also Bring:- Undergraduate degree in related field
- Experience supporting processes in a hybrid work environment
- Experience working with and supporting teams
- Experience working with the King County Web Content Management System (Sitecore) and analytics (Siteimprove)
- Markup language (HTML/XML) and/or JSON experience
Supplemental Information
Working Conditions:
- Remote and Onsite Work Details:Employees in this role work remotely from a home location with occasional onsite reporting requirements (1-3 meetings per month). The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly. Onsite reporting locations may be at various King County worksites including the collaboration space at King Street Center (201 S. Jackson St Seattle WA 98104) and treatment plant facilities. This work arrangement promotes work-life-balance and reduces carbon footprint under the departments vision of Green Where We Work.
- Requirement:Employees must reside in Washington State and be within a reasonable distance to King County worksites to meet onsite reporting requirements.
- Work Schedule:This full-time position works a 40-hour work week. This position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible.
- Union Representation:This position is represented by The Technical Employees Association (TEA).
