Job Description

  • Full timefixed term to August 2026Team Leader role in Family Services
  • Based at Bendigo leading the Family Services teams and Adolescent FV in the home

Tell me more:

The Team Leader will be instrumental in coordinating the day-to-day delivery of the services to isolated and vulnerable families that require family/parenting and multi-faceted interventions. You will co-ordinate the delivery of these high-quality programs that provide genuine and positive outcomes for clients.

This role also leads the Adolescent Family Violence in The Home (AFVITH) program which would require a level ofexperience and/or understanding in planning and delivering family violence interventions and knowledge of different impacts for each family member whilst holding the young person accountable and responsible.

This is a role where you will get to work in conjunction with the Program Manager to plan and implement responses in relation to sector and service developments whilst ensuring appropriate processes are in place to enable continuous improvement of services and to promote best practice and ongoing quality improvement of the program.

As the team leader we also want to see you provide ongoing support supervision performance management learning and development of team members across family services programs.

The skills you will use day to day:

  • Your understanding of the Child Protection OOHC placement and support services and the family services system including the legislative and policy framework.
  • Adolescent Family Violence and its impacts on family (desirable but could be an opportunity for growth).
  • Flexible responsive and evidence-informed interventions to address the needs of children and improve family functioning.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the application of relevant theoretical approaches that underpin casework practice (including theories of trauma child attachment child development and abuse)
  • Experience and skills in developing and leading a team that is inclusive and engaged and providing staff with good quality supervision coaching and professional development.
  • Skills and experience in delivering programs and services within required timeframes and budget parameters.
