Do you want to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young children The Family Conservancy is seeking a committed to Eligibility/Recruitment/Selection/Enrollment/Attendance (ERSEA)/Family/Community Engagement (FCE) Coordinator to join our Head Start team. In this role youll help bring our vision to life a Kansas City region where strong foundations in early childhood lead to brighter futures for all.


As a Eligibility/Recruitment/Selection/Enrollment/Attendance (ERSEA)/Family/Community Engagement (FCE) Coordinator you will facilitate the Head Start intake system by engaging with the community following up with interested families and assisting in application completion. As well as monitoring enrollment funding and coordinating recruitment efforts across the Head Start program.

Compensation: The role described below offers an hourly rate of $27.00. In addition to the stated rate TFCs Total Rewards package includes a comprehensive benefits plan.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborates with community agencies to advocate for the needs of Head Start families. Attends community events and meetings to share information about the Head Start program. Seeks community resources to meet the needs of the Head Start program partners and clients.
  • Assist clients throughout the Head Start intake process. This involves scheduling application appointments gathering all necessary documentation for eligibility determination completing the eligibility assessment entering all required data and responding to inquiries within one business day.
  • Ensures that Head Start application requirements are completed within two business days for review and approval by the Head Start Director. Address any issues identified during the review within one business day to prevent delays in processing and approvals.
  • Engages in recruitment activities and community events as needed to ensure the program meets funded enrollment and 10% disability requirements.
  • Monitors recruitment activities to evaluate the effectiveness of events or initiatives identify further outreach needs and explore opportunities for community collaboration.
  • Helps ensure 85% attendance rate expectation by monitoring attendance rates and providing technical assistance & training to family service staff.
  • Monitors Head Start data systems to ensure compliance with program policies procedures and federal regulations.
  • Supports family-centered transition practices by aiding all children and families transitioning into within and out of the Head Start program; monitoring ChildPlus reports and completing transition documents as needed; providing coaching and mentoring to family service staff.
  • Develops training materials for family service staff partners and other groups to support compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and the Head Start Act.
  • Provides training and technical assistance to family service staff to support the implementation of family engagement activities to meet parent training requirements and design father/male engagement strategies throughout the program.
Requirements

  • Ability to present information to groups and individuals through verbal and written formats.
  • Ability to speak read write and hear English to communicate with community members clients co-workers and others
  • Demonstrable proficiency with Google Suite such as Docs Sheets and Slides and familiarity with email and internet functions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to work as part of a team communicate effectively both orally and in writing and receive and provide feedback
  • Demonstrate high proficiency in the subject area of organizational dynamics emotional intelligence and problem solving as well as the ability to prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Possess the ability to make a sound decision support multiple programs simultaneously and provide compliance monitoring proactively and positively.
  • Possess a flexible attitude and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Possesses accuracy organizational skills attention to detail and the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop rapport with staff child care providers and consumers including children and their parents.
  • Ability to collaborate with a diverse group of partners staff and families.
  • Ability to travel to all parts of the facility Head Start centers throughout the community and to make overnight trips; Ability to prepare typed reports perform basic business statistical calculations and draw correct inferences from data.
  • Prior experience with database management is preferred. Prior experience with the Child Plus database preferred. Prior experience with Google Suite (Docs Email Sheets Slides)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in a human service field such as Early Childhood Education Family Services or Social Work.
  • Prior knowledge of Head Start Program Performance Standards program philosophy and mission preferred.
  • Prior compliance monitoring database management and/or case management experience.
  • Bilingual frequency in written and oral English/Spanish or English/Somali preferred.
