Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer for a hybrid (On-site work required) contract position with our Sacramento California based client playing a key role in supporting mission-critical projects. This individual will serve as a technical leader with a deep understanding of electronic data processing Oracle database development and modern programming languages. The ideal candidate will excel at systems analysis architecture design and software development within a secure data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead software development efforts in support of DOJ systems and applications.
* Analyze business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
* Design implement and maintain Oracle PL/SQL code (procedures packages functions).
* Develop backend software components in Python Java or other languages to support data manipulation and integration.
* Create detailed technical documentation including system specifications and process flows.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers analysts and QA engineers.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
Requirements:
* 7 years of experience in electronic data processing systems study design and programming including experience in a lead role.
* 7 years of experience in systems analysis data flow design business process evaluation and technical documentation.
* 5 years of experience in Oracle development including strong expertise in SQL and PL/SQL.
* 7 years of experience developing in PL/SQL Python Java or similar languages for data integration and backend development.
* Advanced proficiency in Oracle Database SQL and PL/SQL
* Strong programming skills in Python Java or comparable languages
* Deep understanding of systems design data architecture and software development lifecycle
* Familiarity with Agile methodologies
* Strong problem-solving analytical and communication skills
Preferred Experience:
* Previous work with DOJ or other government agencies
* Knowledge of secure application development and compliance best practices
* Experience with cloud platforms microservices and DevOps tools
