Childrens Support Worker Residential Childcare

Salary: per sleep in

Hours per week: 40 1 sleep in
Sector: Social Care / Childrens Residential Services

Were looking for a compassionate and dedicated Childrens Support Worker to join a caring team in a childrens residential care home. Youll be supporting vulnerable children and young people with emotional behavioural or social difficulties helping them develop life skills and build brighter futures.

What Were Looking For

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Experience working with children or young people ideally in a residential or support setting
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Empathetic patient and emotionally resilient
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to supporting vulnerable children and promoting their wellbeing

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care and emotional support to children and young people in a safe and nurturing residential environment.
  • Support with daily routines including meals education personal care and recreational activities.
  • Build trusting relationships with young people offering guidance encouragement and stability.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help children develop confidence independence and resilience.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals (e.g. social workers teachers therapists) to deliver individualised care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of observations incidents and progress.
