WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Verifies resident information; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs.
  • Supports medical staff by assisting during examinations; disposing of contaminated supplies; administering medication as directed; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies.
  • Educates residents by providing information and instructions concerning their medications wellness and safety answering questions as directed by licensed provider.
  • Completes resident electronic medical record by recording information within the established time frames.
  • Serve as a professional nursing link between resident and physician pharmacist Case Managers and other care providers.
  • Assist in assessing chronic health needs of individuals and the population. Participate in the development and implementation of individual or group wellness and prevention activities.
  • Maintains safe secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
  • Full-time hours will primarily be Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

WHATS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

  • Associate degree required. Current Medical Assistant Certification through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required.
  • Must have knowledge of relevant clinical issues and demonstrable clinical expertise for populations served.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology; excellent grammar spelling and punctuation.
  • Required exceptional customer service phone etiquette and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely resident flow; skill to act independently and quickly when necessary.
  • Must maintain a valid drivers license.
  • Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications.
