WHAT IS THIS POSITION RESPONSIBLE FOR
- Verifies resident information; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs.
- Supports medical staff by assisting during examinations; disposing of contaminated supplies; administering medication as directed; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies.
- Educates residents by providing information and instructions concerning their medications wellness and safety answering questions as directed by licensed provider.
- Completes resident electronic medical record by recording information within the established time frames.
- Serve as a professional nursing link between resident and physician pharmacist Case Managers and other care providers.
- Assist in assessing chronic health needs of individuals and the population. Participate in the development and implementation of individual or group wellness and prevention activities.
- Maintains safe secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures.
- Full-time hours will primarily be Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Qualifications
WHATS REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION
- Associate degree required. Current Medical Assistant Certification through American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required.
- Must have knowledge of relevant clinical issues and demonstrable clinical expertise for populations served.
- Knowledge of medical terminology; excellent grammar spelling and punctuation.
- Required exceptional customer service phone etiquette and communication skills; attention to detail; ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely resident flow; skill to act independently and quickly when necessary.
- Must maintain a valid drivers license.
- Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications.
