Business Systems and Insights Manager

We are currently seeking aBusiness Systems and Insights Managerto play a pivotal role in supporting this commitment. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving continuous improvement across our systems and delivering meaningful data insights that enhance operational performance.

About the Role

As the Business Systems and Insights Manager you will lead the ongoing development and optimisation of the systems and processes supported by Business Connect. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure our systems are fit-for-purpose scalable and aligned with our strategic goals.

This role is highly collaborative and business-facing requiring strong stakeholder engagement and a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement. You will be instrumental in enabling data-driven decision-making and improving operational efficiency across the value chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for continuous improvement across business systems supporting finance procurement supply chain and enterprise portfolio and programme management and other key business areas across Sydney Water.
• Lead and develop a team of analysts overseeing the end-to-end change and maintenance request process including the prioritisation of system enhancements and upgrades.
• Partner with executive-level stakeholders and Digital partners to address system defects develop business cases and deliver enhancements that align with business needs and strategic goals.
• Oversee user acceptance testing and ensure all system changes comply with Sydney Waters policies and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Drive the development and implementation of a future-focused systems roadmap ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and operational efficiency.
• Lead the growth of data analytics capability across multiple business units enabling data-driven decision-making and delivering meaningful insights back to the business.
• Promote cross-functional collaboration to identify process improvements and support the delivery of strategic outcomes.

Skills and Experience

• Minimum 7 years experience in systems improvement and data strategy within a complex organisational environment.
• Proven success in leading continuous improvement initiatives from scoping implementation through to business-as-usual operations.
• Demonstrated experience in leading high-performing teams managing competing priorities and navigating emerging issues.
• Strong strategic and critical thinking capabilities with the ability to manage transformational change and system transitions.
• High-level people leadership skills including coaching mentoring and guiding teams through periods of change.
• Advanced analytical planning and business management skills.
• Exceptional communication negotiation and stakeholder engagement abilities with a proven capacity to influence outcomes at all levels of the organisation.
• Skilled in conflict resolution and delivering clear effective verbal and written communication.
