Description

Since 1972 Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment programs and services for children youth and families with substance use and mental health disorders. We are on the frontlines:

We are hiring a Wise Program Parent Partner to join our Youth and Family branch in Seattle. As a Parent Partner youll be a vital link between families and our program providing crucial support and guidance to navigate the WISe process. From facilitating WISe meetings to offering non-judgmental support and advocating for youth and families your role will be central to ensuring positive outcomes. The hours for this position is 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and the pay is $22-$25 an hour.


Requirements
  • Provide families with information about the agency and the WISe process and procedures including the parent partner role to help them successfully engage in the process.
  • Participate in WISe CFT meetings to ensure access family voice and choice within the WISe process and to support the parent/caregivers connection to the other team members as needed. Work in concert with the WISe Care Coordinator - facilitator throughout the process.
  • Serve as a bridge between the family and system representatives to ensure that family and providers understand each others perspective and information. Provide non-judgmental unconditional support and encouragement to parents/caregivers.
  • Serve as a consultant and role model to parents/caregivers throughout the WISe process as needed and model effective coping techniques for parents/caregivers. Serve as a role model and advocate for youth/families involved in the WISe process.
  • Develop in collaboration with the participant and family members a crisis management plan that includes action steps and identifies specific responsibilities and communication procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have an Associates degree. Bachelors preferred.
  • Obtain WA state certification as a Peer Counselor consistent with WAC or the ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Individuals who do not already hold a license or associate license through the Washington State Department of Health must submit an Agency Affiliated Counselor application upon hire and be approved by the DOH.
  • Ability to complete online WISe training modules within 30 days of hire and be fully WISe trained within 6 months of hire.
  • Valid Washington State drivers license and proof of insurance required. Reliable transportation is a must.
