To support this vision we are seeking a Data Architect to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is crucial in designing and executing data and analytics initiatives. You will play a central role in building a modern data ecosystem that enables data integration consolidation and governance across diverse functions and regions. As a key member of the Global Digital Innovations Data & Analytics team you will report directly to the Head of Data & Analytics and drive dynamic and forward-thinking initiatives.
Your scalable and future-ready data architecture will lay the foundation for company-wide analytics AI adoption and intelligent automation. In this position you will work closely with business units IT and external partners to ensure data assets are structured accessible and optimized for value creation. Your contributions will directly impact the speed and quality of decision-making across the organization aligning with our mid-term management priorities.

Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture Design:
- Support D&A leadership in defining and executing the architectural vision goals and KPIs aligned with Santens data strategy.
- Design reliable and scalable data architectures that support analytics data science and digital transformation efforts.
- Evaluate select and recommend data platforms tools and technologies that meet business and technical requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver effective data solutions aligned with business needs.
- Develop and manage data pipelines and frameworks that enable seamless integration across platforms and sources.
- Architectural Governance:
- Collaborate with DIT leaders and business partners to identify architectural priorities and challenges.
- Establish data standards governance policies and best practices for data quality security and compliance.
- Bridge the gap between business users and technical teams to ensure data design aligns with governance while supporting business objectives.
- Collaboration on Strategic Initiatives:
- Support the D&A team in developing a unified data platform for Santen that covers cross-functional and cross-regional reporting and analytics. Provide architectural strategy guidance best practices and execution plans.
- Contribute to the global business transformation initiative by evaluating existing master data systems and architecture and collaborating on designing a reliable and flexible master data architecture aligned with global standards.
- Cross-Domain Engagement:
- Engage closely with infrastructure topics related to data systems ensuring reliability through timely patching periodic reviews and assessments.
- Collaborate with data/application teams to ensure architecture consistency purpose alignment and optimization for integration constraints.
- Work with the information security team to understand data sensitivity privacy security and compliance requirements ensuring data architecture meets these needs.
- Provide consultation on architectural topics related to master data management systems and associated systems.

Skills:
- Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (mandatory requirements for application).
- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to coordinate and communicate effectively with business D&IT members and external partners.

Preferred Experience:
- Bachelors degree in computer science data science information systems or a related field.
- Proven experience (5 years preferred) in data architecture data engineering or related roles.
- Strong understanding of data modeling ETL processes data warehousing and cloud data platforms (Azure preferred).
- Experience with data integration governance and metadata management.
- Proficient in SQL Python or similar programming languages used in data processing.
- Extensive experience in data modeling transformation enrichment and processing.
- Experience with architecture tools (e.g. Erwin ER studio open source etc.).
- Experience with CI/CD in data pipelines and tools like ADF Event Hub Databricks etc.
- Clear understanding of master data management concepts and required architectural insight.
- Conceptual understanding of architectural frameworks (e.g. TOGAF Zachman etc.).
- Familiarity with BI tools (e.g. Power BI) and data visualization best practices.
