The KIPP Forward (KF) program is responsible for implementing robust programming for KIPP St. Louis students in each phase of their high school and post-secondary education. The KF program seeks to support all KSL students in becoming successful adults in their academic professional and personal lives. The Manager of Advising for KIPP Forward will be responsible for ensuring that our postsecondary advising model provides exposure guidance and support for students and their families as they identify and plan for the best postsecondary pathway. The Manager of Postsecondary Advising will perform additional duties and do whatever it takes for ALL students to be successful at KIPP St. Louis schools and on their postsecondary journeys. The Manager of Advising for KIPP Forward will report to the Director of KIPP Forward.
Position type: Full-time Exempt 12-month
Responsibilities:
Oversee postsecondary advising at KIPP St. Louis High School including advising towards college career military and CTE programs
Manage train (as needed) and support the College Adviser and ensure progress toward goals related to postsecondary access
Oversee the planning of the Postsecondary Fair Summer Opportunities Fair and Career Conversations at KHS
Support KIPP St. Louis High School and the Persistence Team in planning and executing pre-college and transition programs
Plan and host family information sessions related to postsecondary options and processes including FAFSA workshops
Collaborate with College and Career Readiness 11 and 12 teachers to ensure lessons are aligned to our postsecondary advising model
Ensure maintenance of accurate data in the Alumni Database and Overgrad
Establish and cultivate relationships with college/ university admissions offices scholarship programs corporate partners nonprofit groups and various outreach programs
Establish and work closely with the grade level chairs and KHS administration to ensure that KHS enables students to use all their resources and effectively execute the postsecondary planning activities
Promote and oversee scholarship applications for seniors who are applying to college
Support and train KHS staff in the areas of college admissions scholarships financial aid and standardized testing
Manage student selection and applications for KIPP Foundation Scholarships and other competitive scholarship programs
Work collaboratively with the Director of KIPP Through College to continuously expand upon postsecondary pathways for students to consider including workforce CTE military and credentialing programs.
Qualifications :
What you bring to the table:
Bachelors degree (REQUIRED) Masters (preferred)
Experience in team management
Experience in post-secondary access and advising
A passion for working with students in the city of St. Louis and a desire to provide whatever resources are necessary to ensure that all students will succeed
Shared responsibility for program activities some of which take place during evenings or Saturdays.

Dedication to helping children grow and learn.
Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail; outstanding written and oral communication skills.
