Our client a reputable plastics manufacturing company specializing in PVC footwear is looking to hire a highly strategic and experienced Head of Human Resources to lead their people operations and drive workforce effectiveness.
Job Overview
The Head of HR will oversee all HR functions including recruitment employee relations performance management and compliance. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR leader with deep experience in the manufacturing sector strong knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and a track record of aligning HR practices with business goals.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HR strategies aligned with business objectives
- Lead the full HR lifecycle: recruitment onboarding retention and exit processes
- Manage performance appraisal systems and ensure clear KPIs across departments
- Design and implement policies on compensation training and development
- Handle conflict resolution disciplinary actions and employee grievances
- Ensure full compliance with labor laws health & safety standards and HR best practices
- Supervise payroll administration and employee benefits
- Provide HR reports and workforce analytics to management
- Foster a strong organizational culture focused on productivity accountability and engagement
- Oversee HR team and support the professional development of staff
- Serve as a strategic advisor to management on all HR-related matters
Requirements
- Bachelor s or Masters degree in Human Resources or a related field
- A minimum of 15 years HR experience with at least 5 in a senior/leadership role
- Experience in the manufacturing or FMCG industry is highly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of Nigerian labor laws and HR best practices
- Strong leadership communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage HR operations across departments and levels
- Professional HR certification (e.g. CIPM SHRM or HRCI) is a strong advantage
- Hands-on experience with HR systems and payroll software
- Strategic thinker with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset
