Job Description

The Fund Development Specialist will support NCNs resource development efforts helping to expand earned revenue opportunities deepen relationships and identify potential new supporters for NCNs work.

Essential Details:
  • Compensation: Salary range of $68000 - $85000 plus the generous benefits described below. This is a salaried exempt position with an intended duration of two years.
  • Application Deadline: Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
  • Reports to: Chief Operating Officer and works in close collaboration with the Fund Development Manager
  • Location: Our office is in Washington D.C. and a local candidate is highly preferred with the expectation of at least two days in-office per week.

What Youll Do:
EARNED REVENUE MANAGEMENT
  • Strategize and operationalize new earned revenue opportunities.
  • Assist in managing relationships with advertisers and sponsors to maximize earned revenue including outreach to potential new clients.
  • Oversee tracking of advertising calendar and contract fulfillment.

FUNDRAISING STRATEGY SUPPORT AND PROSPECT RESEARCH
  • Assist in developing specific and measurable quarterly goals that align with and support the overarching annual fundraising strategy.
  • Research and identify new funding opportunities from foundations corporations and donors.
  • Develop prospect profiles to inform cultivation strategies.

DONOR RELATIONS & STEWARDSHIP
  • Support funder and donor stewardship efforts to cultivate and strengthen relationships.
  • Create and distribute donor acknowledgement letters.

OPERATIONAL SUPPORT & INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
  • Develop implement and maintain efficient systems and processes for fundraising operations including database management file organization and information flow.
  • Manage and maintain the donor database ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
  • Track and analyze key donor metrics and generate donor reports to track fundraising progress.
  • Track key organizational metrics and testimonials.

Qualifications:
We recognize that an individuals lived experience is a valued skillset and that people gain skills through a variety of professional personal educational and volunteer experiences. When reviewing applications we take a broad look at the experience of each applicant. That said we are most likely to be interested in applicants who can demonstrate the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of professional success in a relevant role such as earned revenue development fundraising support development operations or related.
  • Proficiency with CRMs and database management software including data entry data management and report generation.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain efficient systems and processes.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills especially writing and listening.
  • Familiarity with fundraising principles and practices including donor and business partner stewardship.
  • Natural and unqualified commitment to earning maintaining and building trust with people within and outside the organization.
  • Commitment to equity as a personal and professional value.
  • An enthusiastic team player who enjoys being part of a collaborative collegial environment of dedicated and talented staff committed to shared success.
  • Energetic dependable and exemplary.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to excel at multi-tasking and meeting deadlines while juggling multiple projects.
  • Creative problem-solver with a steadfast work ethic sense of purpose and sense of humor.
Additional Desired Skills:
  • Experience with working with networks associations or similar structures desired.
  • Prior nonprofit experience is preferred including familiarity with the sectors culture of high commitment and managing multiple deadlines.
