About the Role

Babcock is seeking a motivated Senior Purchasing Officer to join our Capability Life Cycle Manager (CLCM) team based at Garden Island NSW. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the vital fleet asset management services we provide to the Royal Australian Navy while becoming an integral part of a collaborative and innovative team.

In this role youll manage a small team of Purchasing Officers and support the Purchasing Lead by conducting ongoing procurement activities in support of Babcock and the CLCM enterprise activities.

You will collaborate with key stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure materials are available for scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and to replenish ADF stock holdings of inventory.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone ready to step into a key role and mentor others in your team.

To be successful you will bring:

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance.
  • Previous experience in a similar procurement role
  • Exposure to leading a team
  • Experience and understanding in the use of MILIS LNIDS SAP and other ERP systems.
  • Proficient skills in computers in the MS Office Suite including MS Word Excel Outlook.
  • Defence industry experience will be highly regarded
