Job Description

The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking an innovative and energetic individual to fill our full-time VETS WorkforceDevelopment Specialistrole.

This position will work with internal and external stakeholders to meet identified program and individual veteran needs in accordance with departmental priorities including development of employment and supportive services.

Position Details:

  • Hours 8am to 4pm Monday - Friday
  • Salary:$19/hr.

Highlights of the position include:
  • Conduct activities with external stakeholders to developincreased access to employment opportunities for program participants.
  • Participate in job development and placement programs contacting prospective employers placing clients in jobs creating a feedback loop and evaluating the success of placements.
  • Assist in the development of partnerships with existing and potential community partners and referral sources.
  • Work with program participants to establish individual skillset and training needs through interviews assessments and feedbackmechanisms.
  • Maintain close contact with participants once employed to resolveproblems and evaluate placement adequacy.
  • Provide data entry and other administrative support for Employment Services programs in accordance with program guidelines.

Position Requirements:
  • Preferred degree in Human Services fields of study including but not limited to Mental Health or Addictions Social Work Psychology or in a Business field of study but not limited to Human Resource Management Business or Management.
  • At least two (2) years of experience working with drug and alcohol or mental health participants
  • Veteran preferred.
  • Ability to network within the community and work with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid drivers license.
  • Personal vehicle and proof of insurance (mileage reimbursed).
  • FBI Child Abuse and State Police Clearances.
