Position: Full-Time Lecturer Counseling Psychology (1-Academic Year 2025-2026 Renewable)
Effective Date: August 18 2025 (Fall Semester)
Salary Range: The Full-Time Lecturer B (Academic Year) classification salary is $74652 to $158688 per academic year (paid as 12 monthly payments). The anticipated hiring range is $75000 to $85008 per year. Salary offered is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Department of Advanced Studies in Education and Counseling (ASEC)
Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1 2025.
Demonstrated experience providing counseling and/or mental health services especially in culturally responsive ways that serve a racially linguistically and socioeconomically diverse clientele
Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and engaging effectively with a racially linguistically and socioeconomically diverse student population
Preferred Qualifications:
Evidence of a current clinical license (psychologist marriage and family therapist licensed professional clinical counselor or social work) from the State of California
Demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following areas: specific empirically supported therapeutic models child therapy family focused treatment couples therapy psychological assessment pharmacology advocacy telehealth/online therapeutic services
Excellent record of teaching mentoring and advising college or university students from ethnically and culturally diverse groups (e.g. application of culturally responsive pedagogy pedagogical content knowledge related to needs of students from underrepresented groups etc.)
Demonstrated effectiveness or potential to contribute to the College of Educations focus on equity in urban education
Demonstrated experience teaching core counseling courses (e.g. family/couples therapy play therapy)
Demonstrated experience as a clinical supervisor
Demonstrated experience teaching or working with populations demographically and socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body
Duties:
Teach core courses in the Counseling Psychology program and provide clinical supervision at our on-site clinic. Mode of instruction may include in-person hybrid online and/or any combination thereof.
Actively engage in program-related service activities such as student advising fieldwork coordination and admissions at the masters level
Work collaboratively with other faculty and staff members across the program department college and university
Maintain a campus office work schedule aligned with department workload
