Position Summary

The immediate focus for this position will be the development and implementation of major complex medical equipment approved capital projects in a dynamic and clinical operating environment. The successful applicant is an excellent communicator detailed and strategic in managing stakeholder expectations with extensive experience leading the development of the project and project team (both internal and external) through to successful completion.

Duties

As a member of the UHN FM-PRO Redevelopment team the Senior Project Manager manages organizes and orchestrates large construction projects from planning through implementation to project close-out.  Under the direction of the Director of Redevelopment; principal responsibilities include:

  • Perform budget development and financial management tasks
  • Develop project governance management plans
  • Lead procurement negotiations and assess contract risks
  • Oversee onsite construction activities and equipment delivery and installations
  • Manage and mentor junior staff as it relates to project specific activities and processes.

Qualifications :

  • At a minimum completion of a 3-4 year degree in Architecture Engineering Construction Interior Design or Project Management . 
  • Minimum 10-years related project and medical equipment experience. 
  • Certification of Project Management Professional (PMP) is an asset. 
  • Experience in working in a healthcare environment medical equipment major institutional or public sector is required. 
  • Knowledge in building technical codes and standards applicable to acute health care environments is required. 
  • Knowledge of Broader Public Sector Procurement Directives and Supply Chain Guidelines and leading procurement process and activities. 
  • Experience with decanting and relocation of personnel furniture and equipment in planning or implementation required. 
  • Excellent time management and prioritization and organizational skills required. 
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills to both internal and external stakeholders required. 
  • Strong experience in coordination of multi-stakeholder meetings including preparation of presentation materials meeting minutes and meeting agendas. 
  • Responsive to urgent demands and short time lines
