YouthAbility Inc is seeking a dedicated and organized Thrift Shop Manager to join our team in Arcata. As the Thrift Shop Manager you will play a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our thrift store ensuring its success and contributing to our mission of supporting individuals and families in need. You will be responsible for managing inventory supervising staff and creating a welcoming environment for customers.

This role is vital to the organization as the revenue generated from the thrift shop directly funds our programs and services. The Thrift Shop Manager will have the opportunity to lead projects aimed at increasing sales expanding community outreach and optimizing store processes. Strong organizational skills a passion for helping others and a flair for retail management are key to excelling in this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the thrift shop including opening and closing procedures.
  • Oversee inventory management pricing and merchandising to maximize sales.
  • Recruit train and supervise store staff and volunteers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract customers and increase foot traffic.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service and resolve any issues or complaints.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote special events and sales.
  • Analyze sales data and trends to make informed business decisions.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Prior experience in retail management or a similar role is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on team building and motivation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of inventory control pricing strategies and sales techniques.
  • Basic understanding of budgeting and financial management.
