We empower our selling partners financial professionals at broker-dealers banks and agencies with valuable insights engaging tools and business-building resources for bringing our annuity solutions to their clients and helping them realize their retirement goals.

About The Role

This role is responsible for managing unclaimed property for all of Life and Retirement. The individual hired will oversee a team that is responsible for state reporting to all required jurisdictions and all due diligence required by each jurisdiction as well as oversee the call center taking calls from clients as a result of the due diligence letters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage team of unclaimed property subject matter experts responsible reporting check reissues returning funds to the business loading new properties from the business mailing letters taking phone calls and overseeing the returned mail
  • Act as a subject matter expert and mentor to unclaimed property staff.
  • Monitor the reconciliation reports and research any items that cannot be cleared by the Recon team
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the claims/maturity teams to resolve issues with property flowing to unclaimed property or flowing back to the business
  • Create/maintain reporting and analytics for work performed by the team as well as property scheduled to be escheated or recently escheated
  • Investigate/research requests or questions from customers and regulators
  • Oversee the retrieval of funds from state regulators and work with processors to develop the process/procedures for all remaining states
  • Deliver all reporting required by internal or external auditors or by a regulator
  • Work with the SAP IT teams and Ryan when there are issues with Tracker Pro or issues with the feeds between SAP and Tracker.
  • Perform QC on the inbound / outbound calls and all daily processing
  • Oversight of the work queues to ensure work is balanced
  • Ensure all SAP and Appian journal entries are approved
  • Handle any call escalations that the team is unable to address or when the caller requests to speak to a manager

Key Deliverables (including reports):

  • Review and sign off on state reporting and ensure it is received by the appropriate jurisdiction prior to the deadline
  • All imports are received in the correct format and loaded timely from all admin systems and all TPAs
  • Ensure the monthly export is sent to the CEP database
  • All due diligence requirements are met within the specified timeframe from each regulatory entity
  • Ensure the spool file runs monthly research and work with SAP team if the file does not generate properly
  • Ensure check import runs every night research and work with SAP IT teams if the import does not run correctly
  • Research items that the team does not know how to process ex items are not sent properly or information is missing
  • Quarterly reporting to identify potential ERISA in Tracker to move back to the business

Skills and Qualifications

  • 8 years of reinsurance/insurance experience in accounting
  • Basic understanding of general accounting fundamentals
  • Strong understanding of reinsurance and insurance concepts for all reinsurance types
  • Proficient with information technology particularly Microsoft office (Word Excel Power Point)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team orientated
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Strong analytical skills to quickly identify gather and assess information
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management and intercompany departments

Work Location

This position is based in Corebridge Financials Houston TX office and is subject to our hybrid working policy which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
