Job Overview

Join Birmingham City Councils dynamic Applications Support Team as an experienced Application Support Engineer. Youll provide expert support for various software applications including the current and re-implementation of the Oracle Applications. Collaborate with functional development delivery and security teams to implement and support new and existing solutions.

The ideal candidate should be user-focused motivated and experienced in supporting internal teams. They must collaborate effectively with stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and performance of solutions in a dynamic environment.

As an Application Support Engineer you will support a number of applications within Digital and Technology services focussing on support of Oracle Cloud Fusion applications including ERP HCM and Procurement. You will support Oracle Cloud infrastructure and PaaS services collaborate with other teams to develop and support integrations with line of business applications and support Oracle reimplementation program including any new projects with Oracle Cloud applications arena.

The Role

As an Application Support Engineer you will support the current Cloud Based technologies portfolio including Oracle Cloud infrastructure and other applications. You willcollaborate with other teams to develop and support integrations with line of business applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Expertise:Be part of the Support and implementation Team for various Applications such as SAP Oracle Fusion Cloud applications Microsoft Dynamics for multiple business areas.
  • Application Support:Be part of the current and re-implementation and testing Support Team for Cloud based technologies including Oracle Cloud infrastructure and applications including developing and supporting integrations with line of business applications.
  • Relationship Building:Develop and maintain excellent relationships with peers and stakeholders within the business

About You

  • Experience:Comprehensive experience in Applications/Technical Support with extensive hands-on experience in implementing troubleshooting and managing software applications and cloud- based technologies.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience of working and supporting with Cloud technologies and applications Azure AWS OCI
    • Support and developing integrations and integrations tools such OIC Dell Boomi etc.
    • Familiarity and experience of scripting languages such as Python Java Javascript.
    • Experience of supporting ERP applications such as SAP Oracle Fusion Cloud applications Microsoft Dynamics
    • Experience and familiarity of working with different operating systems and network protocols.

  • Ability to work on own initiative to resolve complex problems/Issues and to develop and deliver own work plan while also prioritising and organising the work of a multi-faceted application support service in a busy customer-facing environment.
