An exciting career opportunity to join our Energy System team for an experienced Project Development Manager supporting SSEs journey to Net Zero. The passionate dynamic and innovative team has an established track record of designing building services to deliver energy efficiency and decarbonisation across several national frameworks currently delivering 3000tCO2 of savings annually. The growth ambition for the team is to design build deliver and measure Energy Systems that support campuses and large commercial developments. We encourage and foster a collaborative working environment which includes the widespread adoption of hybrid working which can vary from site visits office work and remote (UK) wide.
What is the Role
As a Project Development Manager your role will span the breadth of our propositions managing the development ofprojects across several disciplines and geographies. Your initial focus will be on developing and delivering energy performance contracts (EPCs)which combine multiple technologies. However you willdemonstrate the ability manageof development including the construction phase plans for net zero retrofits (M&E installations) microgeneration private networks solar carports rooftop solar energy storage systemsdistrict heating and electricvehicle charging infrastructure.
Your responsibilities will include programme management tasks liaising with internal and external stakeholders. You willdemonstrate experience in pre- and post-construction deliverablesand possess good knowledge ofCDM andplanning regulations. The role will be the main interface between client requirements and our various business areas and the successful applicant will work collaboratively to develop andmanage complex project scopes bringing together different areas of expertise (e.g. engineering commercial legal).
You will be reporting to the Operations Manager of the Energy Systems team.
What do I need
- Extensive project management experience in energy infrastructure or mechanical/electrical construction projects including managing construction contracts (e.g. JCT NEC) and budgets.
- Strong understanding of enabling activities (planning applications DNO applications asbestos removal ground investigations) and energy efficiency/distributed energy technologies.
- Proven ability to manage Health & Safety planning regulations and lead projects through governance processes while ensuring excellent client service.
- Experience in resource and supply chain planning identifying and collaborating with partners to scope and deliver complex projects.
- Proficiency in relevant software (MS Office MS Project) with a degree in engineering or project management and a full current driving licence being advantageous.
