Introduction
This is a position specific recruitment for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Forest Service. This recruitment will be used to fill current vacancies for the position and may be used to fill future vacancies in the same classification/function. Future vacancies may also be filled via other recruitments. The resulting eligible list will be maintained for one year.

Main Purpose of Job
The main purpose of this position is to provide Regional Fiscal Officer Administrative skills and support to multiple Forest Service Western Region offices for field operations and statewide programs. Also provides budget and administrative management human resources management procurement communications operations management and training and development to support the Western Region Forest Service; which includes leading administrative personnel at the public lands offices for three state forests; in support of the Forest Service Mission.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three years of administrative staff or professional work.
Notes:
1. Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to twoyears of the required experience.
2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelors degreefrom a college or universityfor the required experience.
3. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included the regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans policies rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the requiredexperience.
SELECTIVE QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates not using a substitution to qualify must possess a minimum of one year of experience in operational budget management and monitoring.
DESIRED OR PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge and experience in operational budget management and monitoring.
- Knowledge and experience in commodities and services procurement.
- Knowledge and experience in revenue and expense tracking and reconciliation of financial reports.
- Knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining electronic reports spreadsheets desktop publishing products and databases for business purposes.
- Knowledge and experience in office management.
LICENSES REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS
Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operators license valid in the State of Maryland.
