Job Description

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the SCM Manager the Buyer/Purchasing Rep 2 is responsible for procuring materials equipment and services to support Companys oil and gas activities. Responsibilities include but are not limited to researching purchase options to obtain competitive pricing negotiating with vendors and contractors and issuing purchase orders for materials and Work Orders for services. Procurement activities may be moderately complex. Typically requires a college be successful this position will also exhibit Berrys core values of Stronger Together Own it Breed Excellence Do the Right Thing and Responsible.

Key Accountabilities

Supports Companys oilfield activities by purchasing materials equipment and services.

Manages and negotiates various procurement agreements including MSAs Master Consulting Services Agreements and Work Orders.

Interprets purchase requisitions and works with minimal guidance from the SCM manager to understand technical specifications of materials and equipment to be procured and/or the scope of services to be sourced.

Generates Request for Information (RFI) Request for Quote (RFQ) and Request for Proposal (RFP). Creates Request for Proposal packages that include a clear Scope of Work. Develops tools to define bid scoring criteria and objectively evaluate vendor responses.

Maintains relationships with approved vendors and identifies potential new vendors to support Companys requirements.

Effectively negotiates with vendors to obtain the best price and delivery terms.

Researches market to understand trends and identify potential new sources for quality materials supplies and services.

Solves moderately complex issues such as vendor compliance with operational requirements negotiating for a competitive advantage developing new vendors and monitoring suppliers performance with limited guidance.

Prepares Work Orders and Purchase Orders and utilizes software to issue Purchase Orders.

Reviews invoices and follows up with the vendor to resolve any issues.

Maintains clear and consistent communication with Operations Engineering and SCM Management so that procurement needs are identified lead times are not critical requirements are met and shortages and overages are avoided.

Reviews and analyzes vendor spend data and implements strategies to leverage Company buying power.

Complies with all the Companys Environmental Health and Safety policies practices and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.

Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance HSE knowledge safety standards and improve job performance.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Certificates Licenses

Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management Business or related discipline.

Procurement certification preferred.

Experience

4 to 10 years experience in a procurement role preferably in the Energy Sector.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Critical:

Oral and written communication skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

Advanced knowledge of procurement processes.

Required:

Interpersonal skills to work in collaboration with SCM team members and develop relationships with vendors and other Company personnel.

Demonstrated attention to detail.

Time management skills.

Problem-solving skills.

Math skills to understand discounts and pricing structures.

Knowledge and experience on how to manage and negotiate various procurement agreements including MSAs Master Consulting Services Agreements and Work Orders.

Ability to learn and utilize Companys purchase order system and other software.

Ability to learn Company Safety Policies Standards and Practices.

Desired:

Project management skills.

Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and work with limited guidance to drive process improvement.

Procurement experience in the oil/gas industry.

Proficient with SharePoint

Work Environment

Office environment.

Routine work involves activities during a typical 9-hour day such as standing sitting driving walking typing and twisting as necessary.

May require occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Must follow all company safety policies including when visiting field locations.

The pay range for this position is between $64500 and $75150 annually based on a full-time schedule. Please note that the annual salary information is a general guideline and that annual salary will vary depending on your location and that Berry Corporation (Berry) will consider factors such as (but not limited to) scope of responsibilities of the position candidates work experience education/training key skills internal peer equity as well as market and business considers when extending an offer. This position is eligible for short-term cash incentive bonus and long-term incentive awarded in restricted share units excellent benefits including full health benefits 401(k) with company match and immediate vesting tuition reimbursement 9/80 flex schedules and generous paid time off.
