General Responsibilities
The Athletic Director develops implements and administers a comprehensive K-12 athletics program that meets all NCHSAA NCAA and Title IX requirements; promotes sportsmanship character leadership and academic success; and safeguards student-athlete health and safety.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree.
Experience: 3 years as a head coach and 1 year in athletic administration.
Demonstrated knowledge of NCHSAA / NCAA rules Title IX compliance and athletic-budget management.
Current first-aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain before start).
Skills
Self-motivated leader; effective collaborator.
Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
Strong budgeting purchasing and fundraising expertise.
Thorough understanding of NCHSAA bylaws eligibility health-and-safety protocols and emergency action planning.
Proficiency with digital athletics platforms (e.g. DragonFly Arbiter MaxPreps rSchoolToday ERP).
Commitment to culturally responsive practices and support of diverse Title I student populations.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Budget & Finance | Prepare and administer athletic budgets; maintain records for annual audits. Supervise ticket sales gate receipts and fundraising in line with board policy. |
Booster-Club & Fundraising Oversight | Liaise with booster organizations; review/approve budgets and 501(c)(3) compliance. Meet annual fundraising target of $100000. |
Facilities & Capital Planning | Coordinate facility rentals and long-range maintenance / improvement plans. |
Professional Development | Plan and document annual coach PD (NFHS CPR/AED first aid sport-specific clinics). |
Public Relations & Marketing | Manage athletics website and official social-media channels; ensure consistent branding and positive community engagement. |
Records & Reporting | Maintain digital records in district/state systems (e.g. DragonFly MaxPreps). Compile end-of-season summaries (results scholarships participation data). |
