The Corporate Scholars Program Manager will assist the Office of Career Planning and Development and will report to the Assistant Vice President of Career Planning and Development. This position manages leadership development programs with specific industry partners.
This position is responsible for operational and administrative tasks associated with the Corporate Scholars Program that includes planning workshops/events creating program calendars managing budgets collecting participant information data tracking and reporting.
The Corporate Scholars Program Manager works directly with participants in the Fisk Executive Leadership Program (FELP) Center for Financial Advancement Scholars Program (CFA) RISE Opportunity Foundation Scholars Program and Fisk/Truist Scholars Program. The manager ensures that participants have access to industry-specific opportunities and are prepared for internships and full-time positions with industry partners.
The Manager also maintains relationships with internal stakeholders and major corporate partners. Additionally the position will be responsible for managing the Program Liaisons (Student Interns) and co-managing student workers in the office.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists the Assistant Vice President in managing specific industry corporate partnerships
Manages the Corporate Scholars Program by planning leadership development workshops and service-learning activities for each program (FELP RISE Fisk/Truist CFA)
Coordinates with the Assistant Vice President and corporate partners on the creation of a program recruitment strategy and plan semester calendar of events and projected program expenses
Oversees the program liaisons (student interns) for each scholars program and co-manages office interns/student workers
Works directly with students participating in corporate partner recruitment events and interview processes
Partners with the Career Peer Mentors in scheduling check-ins and coaching sessions with scholars (program participants) and works with technical interns in data collection
Assists the AVP with department/program budgets and reports and partners with the program liaisons to submit expenses/requisitions within the expected timeframe/deadlines
Hosts recruitment events and promotes scholars programs through a variety of methods throughout the year
Partners with Admissions Financial Aid and the Scholarship Coordinator to manage the scholarship/stipend process for all scholars programs each semester
Tracks attendance for program events and sessions and provides a participation/engagement report at the end of each semester
Utilizes the Handshake platform to schedule coaching meetings input meeting notes and track program participants from designated majors and industry area
Conducts one-on-one/group check-ins with scholars each semester; administers program surveys and collects information for program placement data/outcomes
Assists with the collection of data around program deliverables internship numbers and first destinations for graduating seniors
Plans welcome events kick-off dinners recognition/and scholars receptions each semester
Participates in departmental and campus-related meetings and serves as an on-campus careers partner
Assists with the management of office platforms (Handshake Fisk Serve and Interview Stream) as needed
Serves on university internal and external committees as assigned
Performs additional administrative duties for the Office of Career Planning & Development as needed
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Serves as the co-advisor to industry-specific organizations (Center for Financial Advancement Learners Organization and Gamma Iota Sigma Fraternity (Risk Management/Insurance)
Assists with the planning of summer experiential learning opportunities with certain partners as requested
Oversees Zoom accounts for the university and manages the webinar/meeting accounts

Available to travel to industry-specific conferences meetings and events
Must be willing to work and participate in evenings and weekend sessions/events (one or more days a week during busy season)
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Proficient in the use of computer software and applications (including Word Power Point Publisher Excel)
Ability to prepare for meetings events and presentations
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to manage organizational workflow and its impact on work quality
Professional enthusiastic works well independently and collaboratively
Ability to prepare materials for meetings presentations dissemination and distribution (including spreadsheets brochures department policies and seminar information)
Ability to utilize informational database for inquiry and maintaining records
Exhibits creativity and handles multiple projects simultaneously and effectively
Excellent problem-solving skills
Demonstrates a clear understanding of and sensitivity to the needs of students faculty/staff corporate and community partners
ORGANIZATIONAL RESPONSIBILITY:
Manages Program Liaisons and Office Student Workers/Interns
Education: Bachelors Degree preferred.
*1-2 years of experience in an administrative office reception or customer service role.
*Minimum of 5 years experience managing programs coordinating events/meetings.
Experience: Candidate must project a positive professional image. Candidate should be able to work in a diverse setting and be flexible and adaptable. The candidate should also show initiative and have a willingness to learn new things.
Licenses or Certificates: None required but training/teaching certificates are a plus.
