Performs functions related to recruitment and selection policy and procedure application benefits and compensation administration payroll Human Resources Management System (HRIS) workplace environment concerns and general human resources consultation.
Acceptable Experience and Training
At least three (3) years of human resource experience; and
One (1) year of post-secondary education; or
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree in Public Administration or Human Resources. An appropriate advanced degree may be substituted for the experience requirements.

Required Special Qualifications
Candidates for positions in this class must pass a post-employment offer background check physical examination and drug screen;

Administers HRMS;
Provides technical support on employee counseling EAP referrals and career opportunities;

Trains new and current staff on Departmental tasks;
Keeps immediate supervisor and others fully and accuratelyinformed concerning work progress including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems;
Attendsmeetings conferences workshops and training sessions and reviews publications and audio-visual materials to become and remain current on the principles practices and new developments in assigned work areas;
Responds to citizens questions and comments in a courteous and timely manner;
Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities;
Develops and recommends employee related policies;
Prepares human resources communications recommending City Council Action;
Performs other directly related duties consistent with the role and function of the classification.
