The New York City Mayors Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five
boroughs coordinating public agencies and departments and managing public property. New York City
Mayor Eric Adams is head of the executive branch of New York Citys government. Previously Mayor
Adams has served the people of New York City as an NYPD officer state senator and Brooklyn borough
president. The Adams administration is leading the fight to serve the people of the greatest city in the
world ensuring delivery of efficient and effective services working to make New York Citys economy
stronger reducing inequality improving public safety and making the city more affordable that meets

The Team Youll Work With
The Mayors Office of Communications leads the effort to inform update and engage New Yorkers
about Mayor Eric Adams commitments to getting stuff done for all New Yorkers.
The Problems Youll Solve
The Deputy Communications Director is a key member of the larger Mayors Office of Communications
responsible for communicating the Administrations vision mission and policies to New Yorkers and a
broader online audience. S/he crafts strategic online communications plans and is charged with
implementing approved vision. The Communications Advisor reports to the Director of Communications.
Primary responsibilities include:
Responsibilities:
- Manage strategic communications for the Deputy Mayors portfolio of agencies and issue areas
and serve as the event lead for Mayoral announcements.

- Serve as the event lead for Mayoral announcements.
- Prepare agencies for hearings.
- Align weekly agency calendars.
- Craft long-term plans on Mayoral issue areas.
- Provide message guidance to Mayors Press Office and agencies.

Qualifications :
About You
- You have 5 years related experience in public relations journalism or communication.
- You have the ability and experience to balance multiple demands and deadlines.
- You have advanced writing skills interpersonal skills media knowledge required.
- You are proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
- You are proficient with electronic communications media as well as with such social media networks as
Facebook and Twitter required.
