Summary
Reporting to the Director of Patient Access this position is responsible to maintain competency to accurately complete outpatient diagnostic and scheduled surgery pre-registration processes as well as manage for scheduling adequate coverage for the pre-registration area to ensure appropriate levels of customer service are maintained. This includes responding to PTO requests and being responsible to fill empty slots if no coverage is available. This position ensures that standard work is maintained and updated for the workflows in his/her area. This position also ensures that demand data and problem-solving data is maintained and with the support of the Director Colleagues are provided with timely feedback on opportunities for improvement. This position collaborates with other coordinators in the department to ensure smooth workflows. This position participates in the hiring process of new Colleagues. With the support of the Director of Patient Access this position will seek to improve the Patient Experience through coordinating adequate levels of staffing to meet patient/ customer demand patterns and maintaining smooth and streamlined workflows.
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education High School Graduation or Equivalent
Preferred Education Courses or training in health care related field certification in Patient Access related area
Minimum Experience 2 years of job-related experience in the healthcare industry; Computer literacy with hospital EHR system; working knowledge of Pre-Registration processes
Preferred Experience 2 years of job related experience in the healthcare industry demonstrated competency in Pre-Registration processes
