The Manager of IT Product Design Engineering leads a team of UX professionals and serves as a subject-matter expert in digital product design. This role requires deep expertise in interaction and visual design user research data analysis prototyping web and mobile technologies and product strategy. The manager plays a key role in shaping the design direction across the organizations digital products and features.
This position is also responsible for mentoring junior team members and advancing best practices in design methodologies and tools. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical proficiency along with proven experience in both project and people management. Guided by spiritual principles the manager supports technologies that further the mission of the Church and reflect the enduring impact of the gospel.
This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Define and maintain high standards for user experience and design quality across the organization.
Teach and mentor designers in best practices for UX research interaction design visual design design systems and accessibility.
Develop frameworks and processes to help designers independently solve complex user and business problems.
Guide the professional growth of individual designers through coaching feedback and skills development.
Establish principles and methodologies that ensure consistency scalability and accessibility across all design work.
Build and nurture a healthy collaborative and growth-oriented design culture.
Partner with other managers and cross-functional leaders to align design efforts with organizational goals and strategies.
Advocate for the role of design across the organization by demonstrating its impact on user outcomes and business value.
Facilitate communication between the design team and stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding and respect for priorities and constraints.
Collaborate with HR in hiring onboarding and developing design talent to ensure a strong balanced and mission-aligned team.
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience. Masters degree preferred.
10 years of relevant experience with the full design cycle across multiple products. Experience in a large corporate environment preferred.
Deep expertise in UX design principles and related technologies
Advanced proficiency with industry-standard design and prototyping tools
Comprehensive knowledge of design and usability solutions technologies tools and best practices
Ability to define reusable patterns and promote consistency without limiting innovation or creativity
Experience designing for mobile and native platforms
Strong understanding of web standards and front-end development technologies including tools and best practices
Extensive familiarity with current trends in front-end architecture including performance accessibility and usability
Strong team-building skills and experience working in agile environments
Ability to present and advocate for design solutions across all organizational levels
Broad working knowledge of project management processes and methodologies
Comfortable working in a professional office environment
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the role including sitting for extended periods and using computer equipment
