The AUKUS Submarines and Industrial Base Group (ASIG) within the Sea Land Air Division provides timely objective analytic assessments that integrate technical operational programmatic policy and business analysis to NAVSEA Team Submarine program offices and key stakeholders surrounding submarine platform construction. Team Submarine unifies submarine platform procurement activities which includes the Columbia-class SSBN program (a Major Defense Acquisition Program and the Navys top acquisition priority) the Virginia-class SSN program and the new SSN-X program (developing the next generation attack submarine) to bring improved capabilities to our undersea forces. Analysts and Engineers supporting Team Submarine will continue SPAs decades of support to the SSBN force as well as supporting oversight of cutting-edge attack submarine construction assisting in developing the design requirements for the SSN platform of the future and helping plan and execute new and innovative strategies to strengthen the critical submarine shipbuilding industrial base. These are high-profile major acquisition and manufacturing programs of significant importance to the future capabilities of the US Navy in an era of renewed strategic competition.
SPA has an immediate need for an Action Officer to support the AUKUS I&A Offices Phase 2 Team. #MC
Responsibilities
The Phase 2 Action Officer will provide support to the NAVSEA AUKUS I&A Program Office. Responsibilities will include strategic planning and coordination of program wide activities correspondence management supporting development of integrated plans event/travel coordination supporting fleet integration with AUKUS program and coordinating integrated schedule and risk analysis.
This position is located at SPA HQ in Alexandria VA but requires frequent travel to the Washington Navy Yard (WNYD) in Washington DC. There is some opportunity for up to 15% travel to partner and industry stakeholder locations.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 5 years of government or military related experience
- Service onboard a US nuclear-powered warship experience working in NAVSEA Team Submarine or similar experience
- Ability to work on-site at SPA HQ in Alexandria VA up to full time with frequent local travel to the WNYD based upon the needs of the client. Remote work up to 40% will occasionally be available
- Current DoD SECRET clearance
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with US Navy submarine operations and maintenance
- Experience with New Construction of Nuclear-powered Warships
- Experience supporting a NAVSEA acquisition program office. Experience/knowledge of Navy acquisition program office organizations and processes
- Experience working with international partners
- Experience in a DoD/client-facing environment
- Knowledge of DoD written correspondence styles and formats and task management. Experience with Navy correspondence preferred
