We are seeking a highly motivated strategic oriented sales professional to join our team as the Director of Business Development. Working remotely from the Indiana region.

As the Director of Business Development you will be responsible for supporting and shaping the regional sales managers and play a critical role in Tarkett Sports Constructions growth strategy by expanding our portfolio. You will be at the forefront to identifying and secure new opportunities nurturing relationships with architects design build contractors engineers by developing a robust network of design companies.

What Youll Do

Business Growth & Strategic Expansion

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with the companys long-term growth objectives.
  • Conduct market and competitor analyses to identify emerging trends market gaps and expansion opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with regional sales managers to align business development efforts with the our growth objectives and refine service offerings and value propositions.

Client Engagement & Industry Influence

  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with key clients developers real estate firms government agencies and industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for industry events investor summits and high-level networking forums.
  • Oversee pursuit strategies for high-value projects and RFPs including go/no-go decisions and win themes.
  • Lead proposal development in coordination with marketing estimating and operations teams
  • Build trust-based long-term relationships with clients as their strategic design partner.
  • Lead client engagement efforts ensuring seamless communication exceptional service and repeat business.

Revenue Growth & Deal Structuring

  • Drive new client acquisition and strategic partnerships to meet annual revenue targets.
  • Negotiate and close business deals ensuring alignment with company capabilities and margin goals.
  • Track and report on business development KPIs and ROI of initiatives.

Internal Leadership & Collaboration

  • Guide business development staff and mentor junior team members.
  • Work closely with preconstruction estimating and project management teams to ensure seamless project handoffs.
  • Represent the company at industry events conferences and trade associations.

Experience & Education Desired:

  • Bachelors degree: Construction Management Business Administration Engineering Architecture or a related field.
  • MBA or Masters in a relevant field preferred
  • 5 years of proven experience in sales business development strategic planning with construction engineering development industry.
  • Deep understanding of construction delivery methods (Design-Build CMAR etc.) RFP processes and industry dynamics.
  • High track record of relationship -building and networking capabilities with AEC network
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Self-motivated team oriented accountable and self-starter
  • Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce) Microsoft Office Suite and construction management Software (Procore)
  • Travel as needed: 35% weekly travel and overnights
