Job title: Traffic Safety and Control Officer (TSCO)
Salary: Grade 7
37570 - 40807 per year
Location: A4 Kirby Misperton North Yorkshire
Contract: Full time (40 hours) permanent position

Due to internal progression an opportunity has arisen for a Traffic Safety and Control Officer (TSCO) to join our team. Working from our Kirby Misperton depot youll be coordinating and communicating important decisions on the best way to control traffic management and be part of the team that helps to keep North Yorkshire moving across our rural and coastal areas.

As a TSCO...

You will use apply your knowledge and experience in the highway sector to carry out basic safety quality and environmental audits and risk assessments. Whilst carrying out or supervising the efficient running of operational activities on site and ensuring safety and traffic management is set out correctly youll also be speaking directly to clients and members of the public so the ability to communicate effectively with the people around you (from clients to workforce and subcontractors) will be key to the success this position.

With the majority of your time spent visiting site and managing site activity its important to have valid UK Driving Licence and Emergency First Aid.

Youll be joining us at an exciting time with plans for the business to expand and we are recruiting a team who are looking for new responsibilities and who want to take on new skills. You might currently be working as Ganger/Supervisor in the Highways sector and looking for a step up in your career path. You will be asked to represent the operation team as required represent NY Highways as and when required and also assist the Operational team in emergency standby by and winter maintenance management duties.

To be successful in the role you will have some of the following skills and experience:

Emergency First Aid

Safe Dig

Current Driving License

CSCS card if client requirement

NRSWA

Relevant TM 12D.

NVQ2 Winter 6159

HGV licence

Attended or scheduled to attend Supervisor Training course

Attend Early Contractor Involvement meetings and actively contribute to works delivery

Prepare contract documentation

Be involved in resident and public liaison dealing with more complicated issues

Assist and support your supervisor to effectively manage the team to deliver work as required.

Willing to develop and undertake relevant training and qualifications

Able to complete record sheets paper or electronic

Knowledge and experience of NEC4
