Job Description

Upper Primary Teacher SIS Myanmar
Start Date: August 2026
Contract Duration: August 2025 June 2027

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Deliver engaging well-planned lessons in accordance with the schools curriculum and confirmed unit plans

  • Ensure differentiated instruction meets the needs and abilities of all students

  • Foster student learning through a range of instructional strategies including inquiry-based learning student-led activities and project-based learning

  • Maintain detailed and timely lesson planning and collaborate with Heads of Department

Assessment & Reporting

  • Implement school-approved assessment strategies and maintain accurate records

  • Provide clear constructive feedback on student progress

  • Develop and administer unit tests and summative assessments

  • Participate in parent-teacher conferences and provide regular student progress reports

Classroom Management & Student Welfare

  • Serve as a form teacher: monitor student attendance enforce dress code and oversee daily homeroom and dismissal procedures

  • Foster a safe inclusive and supportive classroom culture

  • Support the Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program

  • Address behavioural issues promptly and professionally following school procedures

Professional Conduct & Development

  • Attend staff meetings school events and professional development workshops

  • Stay current with educational best practices and SIS Group initiatives

  • Contribute actively to the wider school community and events

Parent & Community Engagement

  • Maintain open respectful and productive communication with parents via Class Dojo Google Classroom or Communication Notebooks

  • Be available for meetings and follow-up on parental concerns in a timely manner

School Events & Learning Journeys

  • Plan support and attend field trips school events and inter-disciplinary projects throughout the academic year
