About the Role

As a Peer Support Worker youll draw on your own mental health recovery journey to build authentic respectful and trusting relationships with our residents and service users. This is a hands-on impactful role where your insight compassion and understanding will support others on their own paths to recovery.

We are seeking someone with prior experience working as a Peer Support Worker who understands the responsibilities boundaries and unique value this role brings to a recovery-oriented environment.

  • Building peer-based mentoring relationships grounded in lived experience
  • Encouraging life skills and self-advocacy
  • Supporting people to make sense of their mental health experiences
  • Participating in recovery-focused groups and activities
  • Contributing to multi-disciplinary team meetings and individual support planning
  • Promoting respectful inclusive and safe environments for everyone
  • Maintaining clear boundaries and practicing ongoing self-reflection


Skills And Experiences

About You

To be considered for this role you will need to have;

Qualifications and Certificates

  • Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (or equivalent training)
  • Current National Police Clearance Certificate(no older than six months)
  • A valid First Aid and CPR Certificate (HLTAID011 Provide First Aid HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
  • A current working with Children Check
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • A valid Drivers licence

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working as a Peer Support Worker (essential)
  • A strong understanding of recovery principles and peer work boundaries
  • The ability to work collaboratively flexibly and compassionately
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Confidence to use your lived experience to support others while maintaining professionalism
  • Commitment to inclusion and respect for diversity

Attitude

  • Positive attitude towards people experiencing mental distress.
  • The ability to live RW values in all workplace tasks and interactions.
  • Pro-active individual who is enthusiastic and committed to upholding RW values and principles

This role is part-time working Tuesday to Thursday every week.
