At Suncorp were proud to support Australian businesses when things go wrong. Were looking for a proactive customer-focused Claims Officer to join our Commercial Property Liability team.
In this role youll manage a portfolio of third-party property damage claims where a customers business may have unintentionally caused damage to someone elses property. Youll be the key point of contact for brokers insured businesses and claimants delivering clear fair and timely outcomes from lodgement through to finalisation.
What youll do
- Manage a portfolio of property liability claims end-to-end from lodgement to settlement
- Assess coverage under relevant policies and determine liability
- Communicate effectively with brokers insured customers and third-party claimants
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders including Assessors Legal and Recoveries teams
- Identify and support vulnerable customers where needed
- Monitor claim progress escalate delays and contribute to continuous improvement
- Maintain a high standard of customer service while meeting compliance and quality standards
What youll bring
- Experience managing insurance claims ideally in commercial or liability lines
- Strong communication skills verbal and written with a focus on clarity and professionalism
- Sound judgement and the ability to interpret policies and apply critical thinking
- The confidence to work independently while also contributing to a supportive team
- A proactive solutions-focused mindset with strong organisational skills
- Empathy resilience and a genuine desire to help customers through challenging situations
- Familiarity with claims systems like Claims Centre is a bonus
Work Environment
- Location: Brisbane or Sydney
- Hybrid model: We operate a hybrid working model allowing you to work from home and from our brand-new Brisbane CBD office. Minimum of 2 days in the office per week.
- Training: We require full-time in office attendance throughout your initial training period.
- Hours: Standard full-time hours Monday to Friday
