The Company
My client is in the charity sector
Main Job Purpose
- To enable the delivery by providing a comprehensive high quality financial and business service to the organisation. This role is supported by a Finance Officer.
- Manage the financial affairs of the business and its commercial subsidiary
- Manage Financial risk security and compliance
- Manage and develop key financial systems based on XLedger
- Contribute to the strategic leadership of the business as a member of the Senior Management Team
- Undertake Payroll VAT taxation pensions and PAYE with support of the administrator
- Support and give financial advice to the projects and programmes including business development support as we continue our growth strategy
Qualifications
Degree in Finance or accounting (or equivalent) will consider QBE
Essential Experience & Knowledge
- Knowledge and experience of charity accounting beneficial
- Strong experience of one or more of the following: working in a charity project management contract management risk and compliance management)
- Thorough understanding of financial management complex budgets and the basic requirements of statutory reporting
- Experience in drawing up an annual budget for an organisation
- Experience of preparing accounts to trial balance
- Experience of using a cloud-based ERP finance software
- Experience of organisational planning
- Experience in tendering for and negotiating contracts
- Basic knowledge of commercial business operations
- Working knowledge of risk and compliance requirements for charities
- Knowledge of carbon / environmental accounting and reduction
- Basic knowledge of charity law and the Code of Good Governance
- Experience of managing a small team
