This role helps to foster self-reliance care for the poor and the needy and provide opportunities for giving and service by: helping members become economically and emotionally self-reliant; providing access to essential food and clothing items helping members prepare for and respond to disasters; and providing humanitarian aid to relieve suffering; thus furthering the mission of the Church.
Performs working level duties in receiving stores and/or shipping functions. Stocks material/commodities in a neat orderly way; receives inspects and counts incoming material/commodities; rejects damaged items records shortages reviews and interprets accompanying documentation; maintains records of stock received/shipped; and/or moves materials/ commodities between locations. Operates material handling forklift and packaging equipment.
Requires a High school diploma with intermediate computer skills and basic math skills and at least 2 years previous warehousing material handling or related work experience. Preference will be given to those who have internal Church warehousing experience.
Experience in operating motorized material handling equipment including reach-lifts. Must be able to read and understand English. Must be able to physically lift/move/push/pull items (up to 50 lbs. alone or occasionally lift up to 100 lbs. with two people) climb ladders stairs scaffolding and ramps to store/retrieve items and operate a pallet jack containing up to 2500 lbs. Excellent interpersonal organizational training and leadership skills. Preference will be given to those already familiar with using a warehouse management system including the use of handheld scanners.
