Job Description

Overview
The Oracle DBA-Azure position is crucial for managing and optimizing Oracle databases deployed in Azure environments. As a specialist you will be responsible for ensuring the availability performance and security of our Oracle databases while leveraging Azure cloud capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Oracle database administration specifically within cloud infrastructures and will be proficient in GoldenGate for data integration and replication tasks. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining robust database solutions that support critical business functions and applications thereby driving operational efficiency. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to ensure alignment between database performance and application needs. With your expertise the organization aims to enhance data-driven decision-making and optimize its use of cloud resources thus playing a key role in the success of our digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Oracle databases in Azure ensuring optimal performance and availability.
  • Implement and maintain GoldenGate replication for data integration.
  • Perform regular database backups and recovery tests.
  • Monitor database performance and tune queries for efficiency.
  • Develop and enforce database security policies and practices.
  • Support database upgrades migrations and patch management.
  • Assist in capacity planning and resource optimization in Azure.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues as they arise.
  • Collaborate with application teams to define database requirements.
  • Document database configurations procedures and policies.
  • Conduct performance audits and produce optimization reports.
  • Implement automated monitoring and alerting solutions.
  • Evaluate new database technologies and tools for process improvement.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and .
  • Train and mentor junior DBA team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in Oracle databases particularly in cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure database services and architecture.
  • Proficiency in GoldenGate for replication and data movement.
  • Solid understanding of Oracle performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with SQL scripting and PL/SQL development.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery methodologies in Oracle.
  • Demonstrated experience in database security best practices.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with monitoring and management tools for databases.
  • Certifications in Oracle DBA or Azure are preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration across teams.
  • A proactive detail-oriented approach to database management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
