About the role:

We are seeking a Database Analyst to join our team. As our ideal Database Analyst we are looking for someone ready to bring their troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to the forefront. The Database Analyst will be responsible for both Oracle and SQL Server/Azure SQL database activities both on-premises and in a Cloud environment of which include performance configuration management integrity and security.

Qualifications :

Some of the main responsibilities for the role include: 

• Analyze Oracle and SQL Server databases to diagnose performance issues
• Analyze AWR ASH SQL Plan Monitor and Oracle trace files and determine the root cause and provide a resolution
• DBA support for Oracle databases both on-prem and cloud
• SQL Server Query Store proficiency
• Establish and enforce regular Database maintenance practices
• Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize SQL queries/views and PL/SQL programs;
• Comfortable with analyzing query explain plans and recommending performance improvements.
• Provide ongoing maintenance and support of database schemas and views
• Conduct root cause analysis and resolve production problems and data issues
• Provide extensive support for performance tuning and monitoring various databases. Support various business and application teams for database performance tuning related to business requirements.
• Develop best performance analysis practices and enforce these standards across the team
• Work with the other departments in the organization to provide timely updates to the customer.

Job Skills/Requirements
- 90% English written and oral (at least B2 level) with excellent communication skills
- Experience with Oracle Database (design development administration tuning SE2/statspack)
- Experience with SQL Server (backup/restore performance tuning environment management)
- Familiar with Database security scripting and automation
- Proficiency with SQL 
- Cloud: Azure & AWS
- OS: Unix Solaris Linux Windows
- Knowledge of database licensing (Oracle & SQL Server)
- Familiar with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Familiar with Trace file analysis & live monitoring
- Strong technical and analytical problem-solving skills
- Continuous learning on database technologies and trends
