The Opportunity

Orrcon Steel is looking for a Afternoon Shift Supervisor in our Operations team based in Kewdale WA. Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands. 

In this Supervisor role youll oversee warehouse operations ensuring ontime delivery to customers while prioritising safety. As a leader your responsibilities will impact the safety of our people as well as the quality and reliability of our equipment and products. You will lead motivate and develop our highperforming team to meet and exceed customer needs while also focusing on continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness in operations.

What Will You Do

While engaging and leading the team of 7 youll actively participate in providing the required operational discipline and continuous improvement. Youll work closely with the production team you will:

• lead and supervise our operations area inclusive of safety scheduling manufacturing maintenance and stores activities assist your team with daily tasks when required and be hands on
• identify opportunities to improve efficiency and performance outcomes striving for consistent in full and on time delivery
• support operational contractor management cost efficiencies and prompt service with a view to operational efficiency
• ensure safety standards are adhered to making suitable changes when risks and opportunities are identified
• coach and mentor your team to develop their technical knowledge and operations skills

You will be an engaging leader focused on developing your team to deliver creative solutions to complex problems. In addition you will bring:

• experience working within an operations warehousing or logistics environment
• an ability to translate business objectives to clear actions and outcomes for your team
• excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to motivate and influence others
• demonstrated ability to coach and develop others to enhance capability
• a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of yourself and others
