General ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services the Director of Specialized Transportation oversees all aspects of ESD 112s specialized student transportation services. Responsibilities include personnel management facility and fleet operations policy development customer relations strategic planning and route scheduling.
Salary:The full annual salary range for this position is $111924.80 $136177.60. Offers start at the entry level of the range.

Essential Functions/Other FunctionsEssential Functions:- Coordinate all aspects of student transportation to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Manage the Specialized Transportation budget and staffing plan optimizing resources effectively.
- Oversee route and vehicle scheduling to maximize operational efficiency.
- Lead recruitment hiring assignment supervision and evaluation of Specialized Transportation personnel.
- Supervise the preparation and maintenance of route maps and related reports.
- Serve as staff liaison for the Specialized Transportation Executive Committee facilitating program activities.
- Develop school bus specifications that fully comply with state and federal regulations.
- Establish performance standards and oversee vehicle operations servicing and maintenance.
- Implement and maintain a public relations and communication strategy to foster understanding and support for Specialized Transportation among staff parents educators administrators and superintendents.
- Ensure compliance with all state federal and ESD regulations related to transportation and school bus driver training.
- Oversee student and staff safety including school bus related accidents and safety incidents.
- Provide technical and administrative support on transportation related matters for school district districts within the ESD.
- Expand the program to meet district needs while developing cost effective services.

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications & SkillsMinimum Qualifications:- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Three years experience as a senior level administrator of a transportation program.
- Experience in the pupil transportation in the following areas: supervision of personnel routing and scheduling (dispatching) bus driver training pupil transportation safety bus maintenance and preparation of bus specifications.
- Experience with financial management including budget development revenue development and expenditure tracking.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and database software.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:- Bachelors degree.
- Experience with managing transportation for special needs students.
- Experience in the use of safety standards laws codes rules regulations policies and procedures relating to special education pupil transportation.
Working Conditions/Employment RequirementsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:- Extended or flexible hours as necessary.
- Required to travel to and from sites.
Employment Requirements:- Successful completion of a criminal history and fingerprint check through the Washington State Patrol and FBI.
