Job Summary:The Accounting Assistant III maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards current laws and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance trains and/or may supervise entrylevel Accounting Assistants.
Additional Department Summary:Provides postaward assistance to assigned departments centers faculty and staff as well as the monitoring of awarded funds. Performs various document preparation data management and accounting activities of medium to high complexity in support of the Colleges contract and grant efforts.
Required Minimum Qualifications:High school diploma or GED and four (4) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associates degree and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR bachelors degree.
Skills and Knowledge:Excellent writing data management bookkeeping and critical thinking skills. Strong organizational skills. Evaluation and performance analysis skills. Advanced Microsoft Word Excel and PowerPoint skills. Ability to work independently using sound judgment and solid decisionmaking skills to solve complex problems and to work through barriers that may impact progress. Ability to track revenues and expenditures. Ability to work well with faculty staff members and other project stakeholders. Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
