Are you passionate about supporting others and looking to grow your career in human resources The Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking a motivated and detailoriented Recruitment HR Assistant to join our dynamic Recruitment and Background Investigations Unit.
This is a limited duration position that is intended to become permanent. The agency is actively seeking to secure legislative funding and once that funding is approved the successful incumbent will be automatically transitioned to permanent status without the need to reapply. At this time funding is approved through 6/30/2027. The position will end after that date if permanent funding is not secured. The position is based in Pendleton OR at Eastern Oregon Correctional Facility with regular travel required to Two Rivers Correctional Facility in Umatilla OR. A hybrid work option is available one day per week. This position is management service nonsupervisory. This position may be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) as defined by statute. This list could be used to fill future vacancies.
As a Recruitment HR Assistant you will provide essential technical and administrative support to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process for Correctional Officer (CO) candidates. Your work will directly impact the success of our recruitment efforts by assisting with the CO background check process ensuring documentation accuracy scheduling coordinating NTN test and Psychological Evaluation interviews and tracking CO candidates through every stage of the recruitment pipeline. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with a team that drives positive change and supports Oregons mission to create safer communities.

Collegelevel course work may substitute for the general experience requirement based on 45quarter units per year.
The State Certified Human Resources Professional (SCHRP) certification awarded by the Oregon Chief Human Resources Office substitutes for six months of human resource professionallevel experience.
The position is based in Pendleton OR at Eastern Oregon Correctional Facility with regular travel required to Two Rivers Correctional Facility in Umatilla OR. This position functions under considerable pressure through changing deadlines detailed tracking and constant interruptions.

The salary range listed above is for nonPERS qualifying applicants. PERS qualifying applicants may be eligible for an adjusted range to reflect an additional 6.95%.

The successful candidate for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprintbased background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access there may be some felony convictions that could disqualify you for this position.
