POSITION SUMMARY & PURPOSE
The Athletic/Activities Director will oversee all extracurricular activities. This includes the administration of the schools athletic programs and afterschool activities and clubs. This is a highprofile position that requires the candidate to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management teaching and support staff on a daily basis. This role partners with others in support of a schoolwide culture of respect achievement and excellence. This position requires a critical thinker and innovative problem solver who can work independently and effectively multitask.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversees and manages the entire athletic program and department to ensure quality competition and sportsmanship for and in athletes.
- Supports and gives recommendations to coaches regarding student peer conflict advises principal when necessary
- Communicates with administration as needed regarding student staff and community issues
- Coordinates with the Extended Care Director for snacks transitions etc
- Recruits and hires coaches and athletic staff.
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Acts as a liaison between contract providers (buses officials etc.) and School
- Creates implements and manages procedures and processes
- Maintains records
Duties and Responsibilities
- Schedules and facilitates all athletic contests which may include recruiting and arranging medical safety and other support staff; coordinating the use of athletic facilities; and completing and maintaining contracts and similar documentation.
- Arranges transportation to and from all away athletic contests.
- Oversees ticket sales and financial accounting for the athletic program.
- Manages insurance coverage for the athletic program; ensures that claims are filed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Organizes required medical examinations for students and staff.
- Maintains excellent working relationships with athletic booster groups; when necessary helps with the creation of new or additional support groups for specific teams and events.
- Responsibly incorporates social media to ensure coverage of athletic events and recognition of athletes and coaches.
Athletics
- Promotes and engages our staff students families and community in schoolwide events. Such as staff volleyball & basketball games pinkout volleyball games redout basketball games etc.
- Serves as the head of the MPSL athletic conference: scheduling all athletic contests tournament officials creating tournament brackets coordinating league meetings & conference events.
- Monitors rosters of all studentathletes: attendance grades & fines/fees.
- Organizes cleans & maintains all athletic materials and events including but not limited to
- Washing/folding athletic uniforms inventory & organizing the athletic storage room
- Coordinating transportation for all away athletic events
- Mediating any conflicts that arise with a resolution
- Creating an admin coverage for all home contests (Gate table concession admin.)
- Recruiting & mentoring quality coaches
Activities
- Monitors and serves as a resource for all club sponsors
- (9 clubs currently) Green Club SLT NJAHS Girl Scouts NJHS Lego League BCS ACES GOTR Yearbook Club
- Plans of backtoschool BBQ & spring BBQ
- Prepares and monitors activities budget
- Organizes and plans Field Day Picture Day Yearbook etc.
- Leads and assists with field trips responsibilities (on average over 20 field trips per year) including but not limited to
- Helping plan organize and oversee each field trip.
- Assist with organizing trips: School lunches fines/fees medications etc.
- Oversees Parking staff
- Schedules and monitors parking staff
- Review timesheets and overtime
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Certifications
- College Degree required
- Masters Degree in Athletic Administration or equivalent training and experience preferred.
Experience
- Managerial experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position may require remaining stationary and/or moving for intermittent periods as well as moderate dexterity in operating standard office equipment (e.g. computer printer copier).
- This position requires individuals with a range of visual acuity as well as the ability to communicate with others.
