About Lawrence Public SchoolsLawrence Public Schools is an urban district located 30 miles north of Boston serving more than 13000 students. We believe the fundamental unit of change in education reform is the the Tools and Technology Pathway at Lawrence High SchoolLawrence High School has developed a College and Careers Pathway Model. Within each of the pathways students have choices to take elective courses exclusively in a pathway or take a combination of classes across pathways. Our pathways allow students to enjoy studentcentered learning experiences that lead to developing personalized postgraduation plans for success. In order to expose our students to the Tools and Technology Pathway early we are offering two introductory electives to our grade 10 students either of which may lead students down a path to more advanced computer science technology and/or engineering courses. One of those courses Computer Science Essentials using curriculum developed by Project Lead the Way ( . Project Lead the Way courses provide handson project based learning opportunities for students. The other course is Cybersecurity. This is a projectbased studentcentered course using Cyber Warriors curriculum ( Students work in a selfpaced environment to gain experience in learn more about cybersecurity and digital citizenship. We are seeking a STEM based educator with a math and/or science background who is enthusiastic about computers technology and engineering and handson learning and who has a desire to share their expertise with our students. Join us in setting them on this very important pathway. ResponsibilitiesEducators responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Teach introductory courses in Computer Science or Robotics;Plan and deliver rigorous lessons aligned to state standards;Update the gradebook on a weekly basis;Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practice;Actively participate in professional development cohort activities and schoolwide functions;Implement schoolwide behavior management system within the classroom;Make and log 5 calls home per week to keep families updated on their students progress;Provide support accommodations and attention to all studentsConduct morning and afternoon duties during assigned times;Display professionalism at all times.
