Compensation Package:
JOB SUMMARY: The Director of Volunteer Engagement Office provides leadership for the Volunteer Engagement Office and other related programs ensuring that the programs and services are in accord with best practice standards contract and grant requirements and Agency practices and procedures. The Director is accountable for the programs fiscal operational administrative personnel development and quality activities. The position participates in strategic planning and development of services monitors performance goals against plan. Serves as a member of the Leadership Team to ensure volunteers are represented during all discussions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: Provides administrative supervision of 3 FTEs and functional supervision of approximately 25 FT/PT permanent volunteers (Cap Corps VISTA Hope Corps IVC Interns etc.)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency around matters related to running the office such as goal setting reporting CQI managing the staff budgeting procuring program materials etc.
Provide leadership and direction to all VEO staff consultants and volunteers; supervise program supervisors and oversee staff supervision which includes recruiting staffing hiring performance evaluation employee discipline training professional development; set standards for customer service; conduct regular staff meetings; communicate policies and procedures; and facilitate team dynamics.
Oversee and perform procurement functions for VEO activities.
Build capacity of staff to engage volunteers in the work of their programs.
Maintain an awareness within the Agency of volunteer contributions to the mission which sustains a commitment to volunteerism.
Oversee and/or coordinate the collection compilation and analysis of program activity and statistical data including satisfaction surveys to internal clients and volunteers; write and ensure the timely submission of all external and internal program reports.
Perform liaison activities with community partners by attending community seminars outreach events and government/private foundation events.
Establish and maintain relationships with community groups corporate organizations and academic institutions to create and maintain short and longterm volunteer opportunities.
Develop program operating budget and provide fiscal direction to the program.
Monitor program revenues and expenditures to ensure these are within established budgetary guidelines.
Prepare budget revisions; and provide required financial reports.
Oversee and maintain quality program practices ensuring compliance with best practice standards contract grant requirements and agency practices and procedures.
Enable staff participation in quality improvement.
Update the programs practices and procedures and program manual as needed.
Participate in regional and national professional organizations to garner best practices and for professional development.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in nonprofit management or related field; advanced degree preferred.
8 years of experience in social services program or project management including experience in managing grants and contracts.
3 years of supervisory experience.
Certification in Volunteer Administration preferred.
