General Summary
The Department of Marketing in the College of Business anticipates hiring one new Graduate Assistant starting in the Fall 2025 semester. The selected candidate must have the qualifications necessary to assist department faculty with research projects teaching support and other academic activities related to the departments areas of specialization. Students enrolled in the College of Businesss Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) Masters program or the MBA program with a focus in marketing supply chain management international business or a closely related field are encouraged to apply.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist departments department/ faculty/staff with projects or assignments that require the skill of graduate students in the departments academic programs in conducting research administering online survey research library work literature reviews data entry database statistical analysis editing/proofing formatting bibliographies and other researchrelated activities in support of department initiatives.
- Assist Department Head/faculty/staff in teachingrelated materials (e.g. photocopying department workroom management).
- Take and pick up objective (computerscored) exams to/from the computer center.
- Monitor/administer makeup exams.
- GAs in this position may also assist faculty in designing and deployment of researchbased pedagogical programs such as new course design online course development moving existing course material into online course management systems and workshops for academic and general audience consumption.
- Assist department head/faculty/staff in activities such as covering the office organizing the conference/work room as needed preparation of materials/data needs/support for departmental committees and Advisory Board meetings and student clubs.
- Additionally assist in the production and dissemination of departmental letters.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to work up to 20 hours per week if fulltime; 10 hours for parttime is required.
A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
Admission and enrollment in a graduate program at EMU is required.
Maintenance of a 67% course completion is required.
Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter semesters is required.
Special Instructions:
Must submit resume highlighting experience area of academic interest familiarity with the different statistical analysis software and two references.
