The Region Flexibility Engineering (RFE) team builds and leverages foundational infrastructure capabilities tools and datasets needed to support the rapid global expansion of Amazons SOA infrastructure. This role is for SDE III in Axon & HawkEye team. Our team focuses on robust and scalable architecture patterns and engineering best practices driving adoption of everevolving and emerging AWS technologies. Axon & HawkEye is looking for a passionate resultsoriented inventive Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) to refine and deliver our grand vision design and implement technical solutions for regional placement automation crossregion libraries and tooling useful for teams across Amazon.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) you will solve some of the most intriguing problems in software architecture while designing and building highly scalable services and solutions from the ground up. Our project spans across all of Amazon Stores Digital and Others (SDO) Businesses. We work closely with AWS teams to advise them on SDO requirements to set up required infrastructure. You will work closely with and learn from a large Principal Engineering community. Key job responsibilities
* Design and implement features within the Axon & HawkEye infrastructure.
* Participate in the oncall & operational activities of the team.
* The candidate will be responsible for technical mentoring helping to develop the SDEs in the team as well as contributing to guide and onboard new team members.
The key deliverables are the defined Milestones of RFE Axon & HawkEye. Our team has a clear definition of the project success (in terms of adoption metrics etc.)
6 years of noninternship professional software development experience
7 years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor tech lead or leading an engineering team
Strong proficiency in Java and good understanding of Concurrency.
Strong understanding of JVM internals garbage collection class loading and memory management.
Experience with inmemory distributed storage systems
Experience with monitoring and tracing tools such as datadog new relic app dynamics etc...
Excellent system design skills strong coding skills strong sense of ownership.
Awareness of the latest trends and technologies in big data and observability.
Experience with Time Series or Graph DB.
Great communication skills.
6 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and current systems

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
