0.57 FTE Continuing Contract

DESCRIPTION:Library/media specialist forElementary school students. Plan implement and evaluate instruction consistent with program and district curriculum. Work well withelementary school students. Support instructional staff with finding/developing resources to implement and enhance their curriculum. Motivate and guide students to read for enjoyment and understanding. Develop a relevant collection of fiction and nonfiction in a variety of formats ensuring quality of reading choices for all students. Support students in the development of research and library skills applicable to their grade level and instructional courses and instruct relevant 21stCentury Skills. Work with support staff to facilitate library operation. Administer information management systems to support students learning and school and district School Language Arts experience preferred. Plan implement and evaluate classroom instruction consistent with program and district curriculum. Teach students to be a safe ethical and responsible digital citizen. Create a welcoming learning environment for students and staff. Other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:Valid Washington State Certification with appropriate endorsement(s) including a library media endorsement. Skilled in the use of technology as an instructional and management tool. Must possess effective organizational skills and flexibility in schedule. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Previous experience school experience preferred. Experience as a librarian and withelementaryliterature. Knowledge ofelementaryschool library standards. Ability to work in a cooperative situation and as a team player. Requires prolonged sitting or standing. Attendance and punctuality are required functions of this job.
